Craig Macpherson

Craig Macpherson is a co-director of Fairness in Religion in Schools (‘FIRIS’), a parent and citizen group that has been campaigning to remove special religious education (also variously known as SRE/Scripture/RE) during school hours.

In NSW, FIRIS has been exposing the problems and dangers of SRE including provider malpractice, and is one of the few organisations trying to hold SRE providers, the Department of Education and NSW Government to account.

Craig is a strong believer in secular pluralism and that there in no place for SRE in a 21st century secular public education system.
